La barbacane – Place Barbacane, 19500 Curemonte, France | +33 5 55 25 43 29 | 20mn away
Curemonte is a beautiful little village, perched on a spur overlooking the horizon. It can be part of a tour including Collonges-la-rouge. Should it be the right time, La Barbacane is a decent place to have lunch into. Don’t be deterred by the non-descript decor, the lack of fancy terrace (can be an advantage on these sunny summer days) : the food is traditional, and more than decent. We tried once the tête-de-veau, not for the faint-hearted, and very good.

Château de la Treyne – La Treyne, 46200 Lacave | +33 (0)565276060 | 50mn away
A beautiful setting for a very fancy meal, in a 1 star Michelin Restaurant. It’s a little far (50mn away), and should be considered as a lunch or dinner option for a tour in an area which would include Rocamadour and Souillac. Romantic setting above the Dordogne river, with one very spectacular terrasse (advanced booking a must). For a special occasion, on the expensive side.

Cote Dordogne – 20 Boulevard Rodolphe de Turenne 19120 Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne | +33 (0)5 55 91 29 29 | 10mn away
Within Beaulieu, a beautiful terrace overlooking a stream of the Dordogne river. Food is classic, based on a nice selection of regional sourcing.

Cueillette – 3 route de Laraufie, 19120 Altillac | +33 (0)519900019 (Google this one, as we can’t set it up in the map below) | 5mn away by car, 1h walking along a very nice set of little country roads.
A recent (2023) to the local gastronomic scene. Chef Oscar Garcia received his 1rst Michelin star in 2014 with his Maison d’Uzes restaurant, then the youngest Chef with such a distinction. Together with his wife Julie, they stood up to the challenge of launching from scratch a luxury hotel & restaurant with some support from the Andros food-industry dynasty which operates nearby.
Within 18 months of operation, they got their well-deserved second first Michelin star (we think this could be the first 2 stars restaurant around). A guarantied upscale experience, of course on the expensive side, a 5mn drive away from your home. Dedicated post here.

Les Flots bleus – Place du Monturu, 19120 Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne | +33 (0)555910621 | 10mn away
Within Beaulieu, and overlooking the Dordogne river next to the beautiful Chapelle des pénitents. This restaurant has various menu options ranging from a nice 20€ daily up to a gastronomic proposition (39€ last time we checked). Advanced booking recommended, especially for a terrace table.

Le Maraîcher – 6 Rue de la Garde, 19500 Collonges-la-Rouge | +33 (0)769995580 | 25mn away.
Collonges-la-rouge (due to the color of the limestone used for buildings), is a must-see while you stay with us. It’s only 25mn away, with a potential stop to stroll the winding streets of Meyssac (maybe a Friday morning, if you’re lucky with the nice farmer’s market). We had a few lunch or afternoon pastry there, always for the best. Their motto? “Zero-km”, meaning they grow most of what you eat within the property. The food is simple and savory, the exterior terrasse overlooking their orchard and gardens very nice.

Les remparts – Castelnau, 46130 Prudhomat, France – +33 565 385 288
One of the nicest view around. The food is traditional-basic, with enough choice to make everyone happy. On top of the international menu (burgers, salads), you will find dishes inspired by the local products of the Region, with duck liver, Rocamadour tartines, duck confis and the likes. Of course one of the main plus is the possibility to visit the Castelnau castle, both impressive on the outside and interesting on the inside.

Les Trois Soleils de Montal – Les Prés-de Montal, 46400 Saint-Jean-Lespinasse | +33 (0)5 65 10 16 16 (Google this one, as we can’t set it up in the map below) | 15mn away
A one star Michelin restaurant since 1999, a safe value for high end cuisine. The surroundings are a little too classic for our taste, but would perfectly be suited for a celebration opportunity. And a short hop to the nearby Montal castle is a must.
